our Club
Somerset Kickboxing Academy is a small independent business that has been established since October 2011, it’s is ran by husband and wife team, Sarah and Mark Drewett-Nation.
Mark is a 5th Dan Blackbelt, studying the art of martial arts for over 20years. He is the driving force of the business and strongly believes in teaching the respect, discipline and fitness that goes hand in hand with the technique and skill. He has also been inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame
Sarah heads up the administrative side to the business, she focuses on the marketing, attendance records, CRB checks and deals with the tax man!
We also have Paul Holder who is a 3rd Dan Black belt and been training for 8 years+ and is a SKA's instructor. He also manages are North Somerset area(Weston Super Mare).
We work hard to ensure that our club helps to build self-esteem, determination, confidence, discipline and gives all students the opportunity to build their fitness in safe and controlled environment.
We bring kickboxing and fitness classes to the local village communities. All our classes are family friendly, fun and, most importantly, inclusive. Our youngest student was 3 when they joined us, with our eldest being into their 60’s. We work with several various disabilities and work with students, their families and their schools to tailor make our tutoring to suit all abilities. We work hard to ensure that all classes provide the chance for families to work together to build all of their skills, abilities and fitness level.
As a kickboxing club we keep our prices as low as we possibly can, to ensure it is available to all we offer discounts for student who pay for 4 weeks in advance. Unlike a lot of clubs we only charge a small amount for our grading’s. We do this because we strongly believe that working through the grades give students the drive and determination to succeed and are a visual representation of their hard work and achievements.
The first lesson is free and after that's it is £6 for children and £7 for adults.
At Somerset Kickboxing Academy we take a Zero Tolerance approach to all forms of bullying, it forms the basis of our club rules and Code of Conduct.

I have helped to train people to become semi-professional fighters, I have got over 20+ years’ experience in martial arts, I have trained students between 2-68 years of age and I have achieved my level 2, level 3 and level 4 qualifications in Personal Training(Specialising in weight lose, lower back pain, obesity and diabetes). I aim to make all the sessions professional but fun at the same time."

Aaron has got a wide knowledge of martial arts and also trained in Jeet Kune Do. Aaron is very passionate about martial arts and always gives a helping hand.
He will be based in the Bridgwater HQ.

Paul is very dedicated to martial arts since day 1 and is a natural instructor.
He puts 100% into each class and also been to Thailand twice to train many hours per day.
James Stone

James has a heart of gold and is always willing to help others in need.
James will have his own classes to run from Feb but he also covers others if needed.
He will be based in the Bridgwater HQ.
Dominic Long

-2nd Dan black belt
Dom has shown a natural talent in martial arts and has grown in confidence since joining us.
He has achieved His 2nd Dan black belt. He will be based in the Bridgwater HQ.
Dom has been Doing Martial arts since he was 11 years old.
Leon Tozer
